Quinoa Cooking Directions

 

Rinse 1 cup of quinoa under cool water in a strainer, transfer to a cooking pot, add 1 1/2 cup water, bring to a boil, cover with a tight fitting lid, and turn the heat down to simmer for 15-20 minutes. Remove the quinoa from the heat and allow to sit for 5 minutes with the lid on.

When the quinoa is cooked add the following ingredients to taste:

  • toasted sesame oil

  • gluten free tamari sauce

  • lemon juice

  • ground cumin, coriander, and caraway seeds

  • chopped cilantro

  • nuts such as slivered almonds or raw pistachios

  • sugar free sundried cranberries

  • salt and pepper to taste
